Tour for Diversity in Medicine:

Helping Students Imagine a New Career

About this Project:

To create national and local awareness around the need for increased diversity in medical school enrollment, BRG built a strategic communications plan to achieve this and also drive interest in the Tour for Diversity in Medicine.

Our efforts secured national and in-market placements, such as NPR, Washington Post and Chronicle of Philanthropy, resulting in 2,150+ students participating in workshops at 17 colleges, universities and high schools.

About Tour for Diversity in Medicine:

Conceived by former medical student leaders, T4D connects high school and undergraduate students with current minority physicians, dentists, pharmacists and medical students, all of whom serve as Tour mentors and facilitators.

``Of the nearly 1 million doctors in the United States, less than 4 percent are black, compared with 12.6 percent of the overall population. Dr. Kameron Matthews wants that to change.``
