PAD Pulse Alliance

Bringing Doctors Together to Urge Americans to Get a Pulse on Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)

Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) is the most debilitating disease many people have never heard of. Yet, one in 20 Americans over the age of 50 experiences PAD. The disease is a leading cause of amputations, making early diagnosis and treatment critically important. This is especially true for Black and Hispanic people whose risk for amputation is double to quadruple that of white Americans. In response to these alarming insights, the PAD Pulse Alliance was formed. For the first time, four leading medical societies, including the Association of Black Cardiologists, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions, Society of Interventional Radiology and Society for Vascular Surgery, representing thousands of members who treat PAD came together to develop a unified platform, consistent messaging and a robust launch campaign to educate patients, fight misinformation, reduce stigma and encourage action.

BRG developed a comprehensive platform to raise awareness and increase understanding of PAD symptoms, risks and treatment options for PAD. The team was challenged to move quickly to launch the Alliance’s first national awareness campaign in time for Heart Month. The time between project kickoff and launch was less than 90 days.

In record time, BRG created a robust public education effort including the campaign name, branding and online resource center. Robust patient and member toolkits, as well as influencer engagement and strategic media partnerships drove further dialogue with priority audiences. Aggressive media outreach during Heart Month drove media traction with thousands of outlets including key placements with Health, USA Today, BET, Fierce Pharma and many others.

About the PAD Pulse Alliance:

The Get A Pulse on PAD patient education campaign is empowering people about Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) and encouraging them to take an active role in the treatment decision-making process leading up to, during, and following a PAD diagnosis. Step 1 is about understanding your risk and asking your doctor if you should be screened for PAD.

We are passionate about the work we do.
