Rachel Schwarz leads, develops, and executes strategic public relations, media relations, and marketing campaigns for professional societies, healthcare systems, non-profits, and medical device companies. She expertly translates complex data into compelling content to create platforms that boost credibility, thought leadership, and brand reputation. Her therapeutic and programmatic areas of expertise include cardiology, maternal health, pediatrics, infectious disease, vaccines, ophthalmology, nutrition, and rare disease. During her tenure at BRG, Rachel has lead communications programs for brands including the Heart Rhythm Society, Digital Medicine Society, the Society for Vascular Surgery, the American Physical Therapy Association and many others.
Prior to joining BRG Communications, Rachel led account teams at Ketchum as a Managing Account Supervisor. In this role, she managed corporate communications, executive visibility efforts, and health awareness initiatives for high-profile clients including AbbVie, Amgen, Cleveland Clinic, Novavax, and Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. Schwarz also spent more than six years in various roles at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. During her tenure there, she created award-winning public health campaigns on healthy pregnancy, birth defects, stillbirth, spina bifida, muscular dystrophies, opioid and substance abuse, and COVID-19. She also managed partnership efforts with organizations including March of Dimes, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Birth Defects Prevention Network, and the Adult Congenital Heart Association.
Rachel graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health with a minor in Nutrition. Rachel also holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.
