Tech Meets Care: Key Takeaways from ViVE 2025

BRG was on the ground in Nashville for ViVE, the annual conference of digital health executives. We are inspired by the many ways healthcare is embracing digital technologies to address pervasive challenges and improve care.  Some of our observations from the Music City:

  • The looming healthcare labor shortage is driving innovation and adoption of many AI-powered solutions – including smart tools for staffing and optimization of hospital equipment. Devices and digital patient monitoring systems (both hardware and software) aim to ease the burden on professionals stretched thin and technologies to automate time-consuming tasks – like ambient note taking – relieve administrative burden, leaving more time for patient interaction and clinical care.

  • Rural healthcare providers, who also face the consequences of a shrinking workforce, face unique challenges in adopting AI and other digital health solutions. Limited IT resources necessitate stepwise implementation, as providers seek to build patient trust in advanced technologies. Meanwhile, adopting telehealth solutions is succeeding in getting rural populations the care they need (particularly from specialists) and presents opportunity to extend careers of providers who might otherwise consider retirement.

  • While AI and other innovations are serving as a force multiplier for providers, many digital solutions on display at ViVE focus on the patient experience. Baxter and Oneview demonstrated a cloud-hosted suite of patient devices, digital door signs and digital whiteboards designed to better connect patients, family caregivers and care teams in a hospital environment. Fan Huddle, Cigna and Scale Health shared a case study on how creating an AI-powered interactive avatar of a familiar sports celebrity helped increase patient engagement with one rural health system. And prescription adherence is a ripe territory in the startup space, with multiple companies displaying tech designed to encourage patient behavior.

BRG is excited about the promise of digital advancements in healthcare. Recognizing that adoption must go hand-in-hand with developing trust, we are committed to helping innovators build credibility, while raising awareness with audiences including patients, caregivers, providers and payors.
