COVID-19: How You Can Still #DoGood

Across the U.S., 53% of people have said that they are completely or mostly isolated, having no contact with people outside of their household and avoiding public places.

An increase in isolation puts people who depend on community support more at-risk. In honor of these individuals, we are spotlighting companies and ways that you can help, even while in isolation.

Here are three causes we’ve noted for the month of March:

1. Inova Blood Donor Services

There are still many patients who rely on blood donations to stay healthy. In fact, 4.5 million Americans will a need blood transfusion each year.

Hospitals, like Inova Health System, are encouraging appointments for individuals to help with blood supply shortages. If you’re in the Northern Virginia area, schedule your appointment with Inova Blood Donor Services by calling 1-866-BLOODSAVES or visiting inovablood.org.

Contact your local blood drive to see how you can donate.

2. Feeding America

In the United States, 1 in 9 people struggles with hunger. The Feeding America network is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, working to connect people with food and to end hunger.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Feeding America is committed to serving communities and individuals facing hunger across America, wherever they are. Every dollar raised from the COVID-19 response fund will be used to get food and funds to local food banks across the U.S.

3. Community Health Charities

Community Health Charities connects more than 2,000 of the most trusted health charities across the United States with more than 17 million caring employees through workplace giving campaigns.

The nonprofit has created a resiliency fund that will support their network of nonprofit organizations across the country that are the most vulnerable populations affected by COVID-19.
